Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion The New Jersey-ACC Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee invites Chapter members to engage as either a mentor or mentee in this new Chapter Mentorship Program. Please read below to find out more on how you can get involved. Mentors For those advanced or mid-to-late career physicians, we would like to invite you to participate as a mentor in this new mentorship program. This unique opportunity will consist of advanced or mid-to-late career physicians paired with fellows, residents, and medical students in a mentoring POD. The commitment will be for 2 years with anticipated quarterly engagements which can be virtual or in-person meetings within the mentorship pods. Examples of mentorship activities include shadowing or research opportunities, training and early career advice, community outreach opportunities and events through the NJ-ACC and other organizations. Mentees For those Chapter members that are Early Career, Fellows in Training, Residents, or Students, we invite you to apply to be a mentee. We hope to provide a myriad of opportunities to young scholars and trainees with an interest in cardiology as a career. Each mentoring POD will consist of medical trainees (students, residents, and fellows, early career physicians), matched with a cardiologist. The goal is to have at least three quarterly meetings within the POD, which may be virtual or in-person, to facilitate scholarly/shadowing opportunities, career advice, and community outreach events. |
